W126 Sedan Ducktail Spoiler - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Well i've got the rest of the kit on the car, all as I need is a ducktail rear spoiler to finish it off....
Question is, where are they available from? Here in the UK, the W126 is getting rare, and no tuning companies that I know of carry any things like this anymore. Does anybody know of a source for a new/used genuine/copy spoiler either in europe or the US?
Also, What are peoples opinions of the SEC look grille for the SEL?

Try nrauto.com. look in the mercedes menu, parts by model, and then 126, and 126 hammer replacement or 126 sel replacement . Should be in there, I dont know if you can buy the parts seperate, I imagine you could but they do have them, might contact them see if they'll do it.

Personally I like the look of the SEC grill, I just dont like that it blocks the lights. But if it has fogs on the bumper I guess that wouldnt matter.

but you might find one.

AMG made them in the '80's for the W126, they were to be painted body color, and in the 1988 US AMG parts list it said they cost then,

Rear deck (boot) lid spoiler

small wedge type spoiler AMG part# 7880154, $350, dealer cost $280
Wing type with brake light AMG part# 7880383 $495, dealer cost $396

They were to be painted body color of the auto (not made of rubber I think)

Ebay .de might find you pictures of it too, also you could try and get a color catalogue (expensive) of the AMG parts, I know Barry Taylor of AMG West, in Richmond Calif. still has a few left (about $50 !!) but dont know his website

Maybe you could score a German AMG catalogue from AMG of that time area

Their W126 body kit could be purchased in pieces, just get the bits you wanted, Front air dam, side skirts, deck lid spoiler, rear skirt, or wide body kit, if you bought at least any 3 engine suspension or body bits from AMG you had the right to buy the period A M G (not the modern ///amg) deck (boot lid) emblem in chrome, matte or black, $55 or $149.95 if in gold , 1988 prices)

I actually used Ebay.de to purchase my NOS AMG sideskirts, and NOS Kamei front airdam. The rear airdam I purchased used here in the UK, along with an AMG front airdam. I preferred the look of the Kamei one, so I kept that on the front.
It seems that the rear spoiler is fairly rare though, I'll keep my eye out though. And also for a period AMG badge! There was one on a 1000SEL I recently purchased the wheels from (The owner replaced the period OZ 3 piece wheels with nasty ones with completely the wrong offset)
