M119 potential?

You,
I have a change to get the euro m119 but as I dont like stock engines..I want to turbo charge it. How much can the stock bottom take? Is 600hp a "pink dream" ? I know that the audi 3.6 v8 can take such power. Afcorse I am using programmable EFI. For proffessionally done engine 600hp the boost should be around 1bar with good fine tuning. Just curious about the stock pistons and rods...if they can take it?

Any info would be good

The Sauber C11 was based on the M119, according to this site. It had two turbos.....

Well ok...but I bet they didnt use stock internal...
I am just curious how much power can stock 5.0 m119 pistons and rods take with proper fueling etc?

I'd bet it would take around 600 hp and maybe more. However, one little bit of pre-ignition at that hp level and the stock pistons and rods will grenade.

jep...the pre-ignition would kill it even if it had frogged pistons and rods, but have you/any of you parted the m119? how do the rods/pistons look like? "skinni" on quite "fat" ? i have heard that crank is pretty much bullet proof ? thanks for any info.
Sorry for my bad english

600HP is a realistic goal. The C11 made 1200HP during qualifying!! The US M119 has a 10:1 compression ratio. I don't know if euro spec is higher, it may be? Anyway, running 1 bar or 14.5psi with 10:1 is pushing it. I wouldn't suggest pushing it any higher than that with the stock compression ratio.

Yep...I think even the 10.0 :1 is a killer....I think I am gonna use double headgaskets to get the compression ratio lower....8.5-9.0 :1 should be OK.
But what to you guys think, (1bar) 14.5 psi....can I go with this kind on pressur with no problems(daily driving) or this is the max pressure what the stock motor can take?

eniway thanks guys for realistic answers....
