Replace valve stem seals. Assemble crankshaft, con rod and piston to engine to measure piston volume-after machining work had been completed. Fit head gasket, head, camshafts, timing chain etc and measure piston to valve clearance. Dismantle and machine parts as required to achieve the desired compression ratio of 9.2:1. Assemble engine replacing parts listed above. Fit turob chargers, drill sump for oil return. Make necessary modifications to enable parts to fit engine. Partially dismantle turbos, drill & tap housing to suit water pipe mounting brackets, assemble and fit bolts and washers. Modify & fit oil fitting for oil feed to turbos. Fit & modify air cleaner/intake to suit. Fabricate engine intake crossover pipe, fit & weld air intake sensor and breather fittings and mounts. Fabricate mounting plates etc for the idle control solenoid. Modify throttle body as required. R&R front bumper bar for repairs, modify as required & fit turbo intercooler. Modify fan shroud as per turbo fitting instructions. Remove battery & tray, clean & treat rusted surfaces. Make up plates to cover holes, fibreglass, sand & paint as required. Complete engine assembly, fit transmission to engine. Fit assembly to car and check for clearances and turbo fitment etc. Remove engine and carry out necessary changes. Refit engine and transmission, work out the changes the transmission oil cooler lines and air conditioning hoses. Replace air conditioning compressor, hoses and receiver drier. Replace transmission mounting & fit cooler lines and hoses. Straighten selector rod and fit. R&R transmission sump, modify and fit 2nd hand kickdown cable from a 24v. Fit dipstick-24v. Fit exhaust system and align. Fit radiator and hoses. R&R air conditioning switch assembly, rewire to suit compressor without speed sensor. Wire relay into air conditioning so the auxilary fan comes on with the compressor. Remove part of original wiring harness and wire remainder to operate various components. Modify new harness to suit new system. Fit and wire Microtech engine management system. Fit auxilary fan sensor, coolant sensor and temperature and wire to suit new system. Fill engine, transmission and power steering with fluids. Fit modified fuel hoses, fit and connect adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Crank engine to get oil pressure, fit spark plugs. Start engine and carry out various tests, adjust fuel pressure. Check engine running hot-check for air in system-ok. Remove new radiator-supplied by client-should be 3 tubes, but only has 2. Check engine temperature-better-not satisfactory though. Check & viscous fan not operating efficiently. Replace viscous coupling. Check operation of fan blades and identify it was a 4 cylinder fan. Fit a 6 cylinder fan-temperature not normal. Set Microtech fan mode to operate auxilary fan to come on at 94 degrees. Replace fuel pump with high flow unit and modify mounting bracket to suit. R&R fuel rail and modify and fit new high flow injectors. Trim fuel to make car driveable to dyno for tuning. Fit relay for cam retard unit and wire as required to enable it to work with Microtech. Sandblast all brake calipers and front discs. Paint all calipers and disc hubs. Fit new handbrake shoe kit and rear discs. Fit fron calipers and discs-500SL. Bleed brakes. Drain transmission sump and fit 2nd hand sump and new seal. Fit interior trim parts - supplied. R&R instrument cluster, repair odometer, fit illumination kit. Replace quadrant light globe. Replace front struts & rear shock absorbers. R&R front springs -twice & replace spring pads. Measure spring pressures. R&R antenna, dismantle & repair, replace mast. Check no battery power to antenna & run new wire from power source. Fit & wire oxy sensor.
