Those look awsome I would love to put them on my E420
But they are most likely to expensive and I here that Brabus wheels are heavy.

Most Mercedes OEM and Mercedes tuner wheels are heavy. My Carlsson wheels weigh 33 pounds. In the world of wheels quality means heavy/durable. Lightness is for racing wheels. Most Mercedes OEM, Carlsson, Brabus, Lorinser, Alpina, Hartge, Schnitzer wheels are made by Ronal in germany. Carlsson has some made by O.Z. Racing.

These wheels, IMHO, look like the the BMW M3 wheels of the mid-late 1990's.
I've weighed Mercedes, BBS, AMG, Carlsson, Brabus, RUF, and etc. They all are heavy, esp. the Carlssons, since most are cast aluminum. IMHO, quality doesn't have to be heavy, nor does it mean strong. FORGED wheels by either FISKE, HRE, BBS, etc. are STRONG, DURABLE, and LIGHT and that to me is the utmost in quality. When adding larger brake rotors & calipers, and going to larger sized tires (plus 1, plus 2, etc.), you almost always add unsprung weight (including the tires and wheels). This makes the suspension have to work harder, esp. on the track. I would love to shed some unsprung weight on the wagon. Those 500E brake calipers & rotors are substantially heavier, plus the 17-inch wheels and 215/50ZR17 Nokian NRZI tires! As ceramic rotors come into production, and IF their cost comes down, I bet we might see smaller rotors, smaller wheels (13-15 inch), yet still low-profile & wide tires on the track first, all to reduce unsprung weight. |
