Question ESP cancelation secret???

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is it true if u hold down the ESP botton on a Merc for 10 to 20 seconds it will actualy take down the ESP control (reduce ESP intervention) by 80-90%. Let me know what you guys and gals know.
Thanx
Ciao

Perhaps I'm a little niave. My 96 SL600 (Which I never drove) had ESP. There was a switch in the console which I thought was there to turn ESP on and off if you wanted. The switch had a little red light that cam on when ESP was off. I thought that was how ESP was turned off. Yes/No?????

I know that the 500E guys developed a system of relays that would shut down the traction control system on their cars...

I know when you engage a locker on my G Wagen, it disables all the safety systems...

You can chirp them off the line with it off.

Your car should have a dyno mode to turn off ESP all together.

On my car, if I hit the ESP switch, it will spit gravel everywhere when I go up the driveway. Of course, the yellow light flashes madly telling me how bad I'm being... Now, with it on, I can floor it and it just maintains control without slipping all the way up.
