Remote Start AGAIN!!

What's that, another post about remote start?? what kind of a loser am I?? oh ya, the big kind. ANYWAYS, I started wiring my remote start last weekend. First I took apart the lower dash and took out the instrument cluster so that I could access the ignition harness. From there, I wired the red connector (+) on the red wire coming from the ignition harness (12V +). Then, I disconnected the starter wire (purple) from the ignition harness and wired it to the purple wire on the remote start (purple) just like the instructions said. Here's where it gets shady: the instructions also say that I need to wire 2 of the "little wires" from the remote start to the + and - battery.
Questions:
1) Where do these wires come from on my car??
2) Am I doing the correct wiring job so far??
3) I keep hearing that some sort of relay needs to be made in order for the door locks to be compatible with this system (Avistart 3001). How do I make this relay??
