Exhaust, Catalytic, and Resonator

Was wonderinf anyone has a number for a goof Hi-flo, low restriction Catlytic, and a good way of merging the 2 pipes coming out into one from the converter, and passing the resonator completely. I have the resonator Gutted, but still housed there since I couldn't find a way to join the pipes. I also was thinking of putting a Remus Muffler in, any thoughts of othe systems out there?

hey craig

do you have dual pre-cats? if so, gut them out also. you should get a noticeable gain in power.

buy an eisenmann stainless steel muffler. my friend bought a remus muffler, and he did not like the placement of the muffler tips (offset) eisenmann has a much better sound (3 sound types: loud, medium, and soft), and it looks more custom. the muffler tips are angled and not straight.

then you should also buy a supersprint hi-flow resonator. you can buy both of these products from tony downs at bekkers import at ext 16. tell him andy iino sent you.

as far as your hi-flow cat: random technology suppose to make a universal hi-flow cat since they do not make one specifically for mbz or diversified environmental catalytics. they definetely make a freer flow cat than stock and still legal. prices are very reasonable compared to oem, and they even are bolt on (no welding, one piece, exhaust manifold to the resonator).

div env cat tel # (800) 332-4431 talk to ed. he is a great guy. tell him andy from auto dynamics sent you.

hope this helps,

Thanks Alot. I was looking for actually straight square tips, but thats a looks preference. As far as the Resonator, I don't want to keep it at all. I don't have pre-cats to cut, so I am good there. Any other suggestions?

if you get rid of your resonator, you might experience loss of torque due to no back pressure. you will have to experience with it. it will definitely sound a little louder since most of the noise is generated in the resonator.

as far as in other suggestions, what else do you want to accomplish, or i should say how much do want to spend?

let me know.

The cat should take care of the backpressure issue. BTW, heres the link to Random:

Random Technology

Any good custom exhaust shop (local) should be able to set you up with a good stainless two-into-one pipe as well as the cat.

Exhausts are another story. Remus's rot, or rust out easily. If you live in the snow belt like me, consider something else. The three brands I recommend are Brabus, Eisenmann, and Supersprint. All are good chioces and at that point it comes down to personal taste. What are you looking for as far as looks and sound. Good luck.
