Anyone using 500e/e500 Front End Protection?

I'm contemplating purchasing an E500 front end bra for use in couple of road trips coming up...

any 500e/e500 owners using a front end bra or that clear stick on paint protector type stuff?

any recc's on pros or con's?

my current experience: I have a 2-piece Colgan front end bra for the E320 Coupe and had to have it customized quite a bit in order to nearly eliminate flapping ...even then, its only good to the paint to speeds of 65mph or lower, after that it starts slapping the hood...

Post colgan

Fad, send the front mask/bra back to colgan in fountain valley ca. and they WILL repair the problem you have... i have had several front masks/bra all colgan custom for most of my cars and have only had problems with my e320 wagon flapping at way over 100mph well colgan has very NICE people working there and they installed larger winddeflectors... longer... and made me a hood cover WITHOUT a star slot since my wagon has a flat hood badge give them a chance to fix it

mark
Fad, btw the CLEAR bra was nixxed by two pro installers
that talked me OUT? of installing it cause if/when you
get a rock chip you WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE
thing wow what a marketing concept!!! and it looks like
crap on dark cars but looks great on silver/white just my

thanks Mark- I'll go ahead and ask Colgan for help.

Are you using a Colgan bra for your 500e?...if so, did you have to request for tweaking from Colgan?

My kids think bras look stupid - even my car-crazy daughter who hangs fuzzy dice from the mirror! That aside, I can't wait to see your car at Willow Springs! It sounds like the most-pampered 500E on the web! I sure wouldn't take it south of the border, however.

Thanks Mark- both E320 and E500 definitely get lots of love

looking forward to meeting the SCal mercedesshop folks too....maybe we can caravan to Willow together with Guido, Neil, Glen,etc.....? 4-5+ 500e/e500's on the highway...now that would be a sight!!! (just got my S-03 PP for this road trip)

I'll be in S Cal that weekend in Rancho Cucamonga but will gladly meet you guys near the coast to get together for the trek

...still pondering on whether or not to take the E500 south of the border (it would be too much fun- but a bit of a risk)...most likely will end up loading up the E320 Coupe with vacation gear (mountain bikes, tennis rackets, table tennis paddles, etc.) ...and since I don't have the self-leveling rear end a droopy rear end will be an reality

You will love those S-03's on the road. Mine are about the smoothest tires I've bought. Okay, who's going to organize the rendezvous and procession out to Willow Springs?

Guido?....yourself?

I'll be flexible and show-up on time...just pass me the details.

I sent an e-mail message to Guido a few days ago asking if any details have been worked out yet...but haven't had a response.

...received an e-mail from Paul Ekstrand from the Tuner Fest and I confirmed my attendance (no track events)...if anyone is connected to the management of this event- perhaps we can ask to have a special place to park and show our 500e/e500's instead of the parking lot?

I don't like bras on anything or anyone

I do, however, coat the nose of my car with Racers Tape before track events.

I have small sections of that clear rubberized tape on the lower body cladding just infront of the rear wheels-paint takes the most abuse there on these cars, and being so close to the ground you don't see the seam.
