Common mounts between 104 - 111 engines?

Well, the dang head gasket blowed up, and as it turns out, I just happen to have a 2.3 supercharged sitting around. My question is does anyone know if it goes right in to a 124 chassis? Do they have different mounting brackets that attach to the crossmember in the same place?

i would say, get ur self the engine mounting ears of the 4 cyl, it should work, i hope. but u will be losing almost 1000 RPMs of redline in this swap, thou the torque will more than make up for it.

Yeah I figured. I read someplace the 111 debuted in the 124.

I know! I didn't realize the redline was so low until I looked it up yesterday. They are a little conservative, I'll be using megasquirt so I might bump it to 6500 and see what happens. It's only a temporary fix until I can re/build the 6.

coool, so to make the mega run do u need to change any sensors??? or it will just work on all the merc stuff?
i wanna run my M104 3.6 amg on a mega, but i want minimum fuss

abt the 111 redline its low due to supercharger rev limit.

I think that most of the sensors MS requires uses Bosch, so they might mesh. I'm bringing the engine to the garage next week, and it'll be easier to assess from there. I have a complete megasquirt system... for the 104. All the injectors and sensors are placed and the crank pulley modified. I know on that, the sensors are all GM, but seemed to fit right in. I haven't been able to try it out yet.

On the MSII extra code, you can basically configure everything, it even works, with stock Toyota sensors. I think it just has a sensor calibration prompt. I was playing with the stimulator yesterday and got the megatune package from the DIYautotune site. The program 'Tunerstudio' is really slick.
