E320, Good,Bad,and Ugly
I have an opportunity to purchase a 2000 E320. It would
be my first gasser MB and I would like to know what to look for, walk away from, and run from. What problems do they share, and what life expectancy can I expect. Car is said to be in EXCELLENT condition and 150k on the clock. Thanks for your input

i have 207k on mine with no major problems, my brother has 160k on his and i regularly service w210s with 200k and have seen as high as 300k. the bad is the rear window regulators fail fairly regulaly cost $200-300 to fix, the a/c blower and regulator have problems from time to time, some front suspension and steering parts require replacement 60-100k such as ball joints and control arm bushings. one last common problem is the crankshaft position sensor will intermittanlty fail causing a stall or no start when hot, also a fairly cheap repair. overall it is a very dependable and durable car. as with most mb products it will tolerate much abuse but no neglect. with 150k make sure the trans has been serviced or it will be a problem. the m112 engine is durable and efficient my brother gets 29mpg fairly common in his (he dont drive like me) and the 722.6 trans is very strong if kept up. hope this helps if you have any more questions or anything specific you want to know just ask!
