So went to Lebanon and get some things done/repaired on my car.
First i got a new full exhaust (custom made) by using two 52mm pipes, empty muffler in the middle (the one under the front seats approx) and an E55 W210 rear muffler (oem). The car sounds a lot better now, and the performance feels better, revs more freely now. Note that the exhaust i removed didnt have the original mufflers, lets say it was messed up a bit. I guess i will later on add another muffler (before the last one) so the sound get less noisy on cruise. Second was the audio system, changed all the speakers, used cadence ones for the front, perfect fit! The rears were no problem easy to change, but the ones in the front doors were a pain to change. We ended up doing custom braquets so i was able to fit 5.75" 3 way speakers in there. And i added a small subwoofer and a crossfire 4 channel amplifier. I am happy with the results, but i think i can do better with higher quality door components instead of the 3 ways speakers. Wasnt able to find a quick ratio steering box so i left it as is for now. Also i am confused with the million part numbers those have. Jayrash suggesting getting a C36 steering box, will fit and it is a quick ratio one, but i couldnt verify if it was doable since i wasnt able to find one. The problem still persist with the ASD pressure accumulator, i will have to order an oem brand new one, i think it is around 200$ at XXXX part number 124 553 00 10. The new problem is : misfiring. I dont know what to do about misfiring anymore, it doesnt do it all the time, sometimes it is just a little misfire on low rpm, and sometimes (rarely) the car barely drives, misfiring on all the rpm range. I dont know if its related but i think it happens more frequently when the car is hot. Note that 9 months ago i got a new oem EHA, rebuilded the fuel distributor, changed both pumps, all fuel filters, emptied and cleaned the fuel tank. I checked everything and all is working properly...so i left it as is till my next trip. Also the car sometimes goes really fast, and some other times it feels slow or lets say regular. Engine compression is fine. any thoughts after this long post? OVP? Ignition coil? pictures will follow soon, showing the exhaust tips |

Engine down!
So my car started overheating, thought it would be a problem of fans or clogged radiator. It turned out to be the head gasket.
Yesterday, freind a forum member Jayrash had the car delivered at his shop, Confirmed headgasket problem, and the 4th cylinder was full of water. for those who for long time asked about pictures of the inside of that 3.4 AMG engine, well now you will be served ![]() Here is two that i got from Jay yesterday, there will be more tomorrow Anyone can think of any upgrades that can be done while we are at it? |

well took the amg head off, the 34 AMG
![]() first thing i noticed is that thou the bore is the same the piston design is different from the 36 amg engine, also piston to wall clearance seems less than on the 36. secondly the 34 head is ported on the intake side (heavily so), exhaust left untouched. on the 36 its the opposite. the head runs double spring setup for the valves, and all the parts are on the heavy side. It is like they are made to out live earth ![]() the valve stems are simply humongous, makes me wonder how it revs to 7000rpm but it does. btw reving this engine makes such a lovely mechanical sound that even the 36 doesnt have. it reminds me of M3s and old 911s. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
