Difference between euro and US spec...
Yea, everybody has been saying that Euro spec mercedes are faster, more powerful etc. Well, im wondering what exactly makes them faster. Use the w124 with the m103 as an example. Is it all in US emission cats? Cause I don't think Texas does an emissions check when you get your car inspected... at least the guys didn't do it last time...

Most of the time after 1986 the differences are in the engine. INTERNALS, such as cam timing & compression.

So, I don't know, but is there a reason why europe gets more powerful cars? Is our gasoline inferior? Or are we just not special enough?

In most cases it is HOW our government does emission testing! ONLY with-in the last several years did the European countries DEMAND that the emissions there to be close to our standards!!!!
Cam timing can really change emissions.
