Finally got around to installing my Remus exhaust. I bought it last Summer from my local MB dealer for $400. The parts manager said some guy ordered it and then died so it was sitting around in back and he just wanted to get rid of it.

After 104K miles the old bolts did not want to come out. I have air tools so I just used my impact wrench and broke 2 of the bolts. The third was harder to reach to I air hammered the nut off. Without air tools I would have been SOL.

Looks great, much better than the dirty tips (I know they can be polished). Both mufflers weigh exactly 25.5 lbs. I thought the Remus would be lighter. I also can't tell any different in exhaust note. Maybe it sounds different to others but from inside the car there is no difference. Resonator bypass is next I guess!

i am considering a remus exhaust(muffler) for my E 500, could you post a pic? it would be much appreciated.

can you honestly notice no difference in the exhaust note?!?!

i was assuming, and hoping,that it would be quite a bit louder(but not too loud).
