m103 2.6l cam in 3.0l

Hi Guys,
I search all over but couldn't find the answer to my question. I replaced my 1990 m103 3.0l cam with a cam and timing sprocket from and older 2.6l. The car performs totally different. It's more alive, seems more torquey. Is there any difference between the cam profiles or timing sprockets between the two engines? The idle is also a little rougher. Thanks in advance.
Vaughn

The 2.6 and 3.0 can have different camshafts (depending on date of manufacturing).

"some mods improve your car and make it into something it never was, other mods, however, although essentially the same, are not, and make that car a ricer"

if your car isnt shiny, you dont know what you are talking about, remember; paint shine = knowledge. In order to be taken seriously, you should spend all your money on paint, (and get a dyno reading).
Dont forget to polish it often

There is an early v/s late cam. The early cam has more overlap. Mercedes went to less overlap to get a smoother idle from the late 103 cam. The late cam has much improved wear characteristics too.
