wanted: 1:3.27 (or there 'bouts) rear to put on a C43 AMG

I'm wondering if anyone knows if MB [or aftermarket?] has a rear that:
- has gearing around 1:3.27
- can fit on a C-class
- can handle the torque produced by a C43 AMG

I've had the car to 150+. Stilll more on the tach. But my car spends 75% of its time between 30-50 mph on the local roads where I live. I say, what the heck do I need that top-speed for? Give me lower gearing so I can USE what torque I have more effectively.

Hope someone can help... Thanx!

I think a lot of tuners offer sport differentials, but they're not cheap. You may want to check these places out too...

Hope this helps! I've toyed with the idea of a shorter gear ratio as well (you're right, 160 mph is useless in the US).

Thumbs up WOW!

GREAT! Yep, I'll give them a call. I didn't have much success finding companies like that on my own performing seaches with Internet search engines. Thank You VERY much for your assistance.

Glad I could be of assistance. Let me know how it goes. Just the thought of a 3.07 on my car brings a smile to my face, but I'd probably need 295s to keep the damn ASR at bay.

hehehe... with a 3.07 in a 500E, I think you would be eating side-rails unless you upgraded to some serious rolling stock....

You guys have too new/expensive cars! Thats the beauty of the 80's and early 90's models, you can swap differentials like nobody's business! I just put a limited-slip 3.27 from an older 380SL on my 500 Euro and it made a world of difference. I started with the stock 2.47, then went to a 2.82, and finally to a 3.27- all from different models. I could even take a 3.47 or 3.50, (forget which one), from an old 350SEL and it would bolt right in too! You guys could try the wagon's differential (3.27) but don't think you would get much traction... Do they come in limited-slip??
