Turbo install on 1989 300TE propane

Hi,
I'm doing a turbo install on my wifes 300te wagon.
The car has done over 500,000kms and still goes great.
It has been running a propane only system since 2007 and has covered 50,000kms in that time.
It uses a Impco 200 mixer.
I'm going to fit a chinese turbo from ebay it is a T3/T4 hybrid copy of a garrett with internal wastegate and .63 a/r. It was very cheap $269aud delivered.
I'm using MS1 megasquirt to control EDIS for igniton, please see my other thread showing the trigger wheel setup.
So far I have designed and had laser cut the manifold flange and turbo flange, I'm sch10 ss bends to build the manifold. It will be TIG welded.
I'll post up pictures as I'm making progress.
Thanks.

You can see rest of pics here

You're using the windshield washer reservoir for the water injection ?

Yes Sir.
It holds 5 litres and has a low level sensor, I'm using a "Devils own" pump that I bought a few years ago.

I have a similar pump that has been sitting also for a few years and was thinking about using the windscreen washer reservoir.

Looks like you left the stock washer pump(s) in place and added a lower fitting for the water injection pump....
Uses the stock low level light which is great !!!
Makes sense as most low temp -25F windshield washer fluid in the USA is 35% methanol...!!!!
Cool down your charge air and still wash your windshield and headlights when needed !!!

You guys with yer washer reservoirs and yer turbos I ditched my res in favor of a factory turbodiesel airbox, heatshield, and fender. I only miss it when I cant see.

Glad to see another wagon getting boosted. Welcome to the club, and good luck with the build.

I bring air directly in from a C6 Corvette brake cooling duct inlet, mounted on the lower edge of the bumper via a 4" hose to the filter airbox.

That's spot on.
I won't have an intercooler installed straight away and will be relying on the water injection to keep intake temps down. I have an MR2 IC that I will fit in front of the RHS front wheel. But I will wait until I have my hoist installed before I tackle that.

Thanks,
I read through your thread, very cool, having a 4 matic turbo would be awesome.
I have only ever seen 1 for sale here, and apparently there were only 7 ever sold here. Needless to say it sold within a day of it being listed.

Made a little progress, here are some photos of the manifold I made, it has 1,2,3 exhaust ports and 4,5,6 separate for a twin scroll turbo. The turbo I'm using is a single scroll but I may upgrade, we'll see how it is first.

I wasn't happy with the little undercut on the flange so I fixed that. Now I have to make the exhuast pipe to suit. Not alot of room on the RHD mercs.

Thanks Mark.

Progress has been slow, I've had a few health issues, nothing serious but enough to knock the wind out of my sails. Coming good now so should see more updates over the next week.

Grant.
