99 to ? E55 W 210 salvage value?
I've come across a 99 ish E55 for sale that has suspension / major wheel damage but no apparent outer body damage. ( looks like the car fell off the road. ) Body is showing rust topside so I'd expect the car to be rusted underneath.
Body looks so so , interior average, miles unknown but probably over 100K based on car condition. Car has been advertized by a car flipper for a very long time at $ 5,000. A insurance co would easily call this car a total loss so I consider $ 5,000 was too much. Any thoughts on value in a non MB area? It would be real tempting to AMG ize a R129 SL. Thanks |

I'd say way under half of the value of a similar condition vehicle that wasn't crashed.
The car flipper is being lazy - if he parted it out he'd probably get most of the money he wants - probably not all of it but a lot of it. I guess the engine transmission and computery stuff would fetch in the region of 2000 to 3000 euros over here - but you'd have to find someone who wanted it. Problem is the lack of history - people tend not to want something with out dealer stamps => it is a big gamble to take from the purchaser's perspective.
