need info for 84 190E Performance upgrades

purchased a 84 190e 2 years ago have had some engine work (rebuild head) and a redo on the entire suspension (Bilstien shocks H&R Springs, sway bars, 16' rims, tires, etc). Have picked out a great body kit and painter. Heres the problem before i go any deeper i want to know that the engine, fuel, and electrical will be solid. Would also like to upgrade anything I change. Its a money pit any way so that does not matter but I must have a reliable product when finished. Some of these wiring harneses and parts are almost 20 years old. Had a radiator blow today not because it was bad but because the plastic is older that hell and just cracked off. Can anybody help with some direction or info or past projects.
Really would like to do the car up first class and fast.

The 1984 190E 2.3 engine makes less than 120 HP. the 1987 & later made 130HP. With headers & cam the 1987 & later engines will make 150. Swapping the 2.6 engine into the car will give you 155. The 3.0 engine makes about 185HP. To install the 2.6 OR 3.0 engine you must modify the radiator support & use the 2.6 hood. So you would need BODY parts to do that!! HOW much $$$$$$$$$ do you have to spend?????????
Any of these mods would require a different trans, driveshaft, & rear end.

Why do you have to swap the hood? What is different about the hoods?

190E performace upgrades

I don't mean to sound like a jerk but money is not the issue. The thing is I do the work myself with the help and guidance of two mechs one regular one MB. I like to do the research myself cause they always think I am crazy with my changes. So i get the facts first and then tell them what i want to do. They will help with locating the parts and if I get stuck in the middle of a project. The level of difficulty is my question more. I have several other cars so time is not a problem either. Cost is a factor but not a problem if the results are worth it. I don't
know why I like this car so much I have much better but I just enjoy working and driving this car. I would like to bring the car up to about 200-250 hp and not blow up. This would still be my slowest car@200hp. But like I said I reallly enjoy this car. P.S this car is in great shape no one has ever guest it more that 8 years old.

you could do a M103 conversion which would give you about 185 hp and then either stroke it or buy a turbo kit for the engine from TDI. The turbo kit is expensive (around $6000) but it will give you around..292 hp. That would give you a really fast 190E.

I know benzmac an Mbdoc combined could give you one hell of a 190e. If you want to do it yourself, try a C36 engine, Electromotive's Tech II engine mgmt system, and 5-speed 2.3-16v getrag manual tranny, along witht he driveshaft as menitoned. The hood probably might need to be upgraded, but I dunno why, heard that people have done away by not changing it so I dunno, if MB Doc says it needs to , listen to him not me If you want a nice Body kit, look at Wald's site, if you have a black car, there kits look incredible.
