Well i got the car running but its not right yet. I replaced the injector wire harness but i'm afraid the asr throttle body wires are dust. It has no gauges but temp. Its got a real rough idle but it will rev and go pretty good but i don't think its full power. stilll gotta check the spark plugs. im not real confident in the throttle body and ignition wiring. I'm wondering if i can build a M119.972 with early k jet injection and single distibutor. It has been done with the m119.960 tall deck block and the m117 front cover.

1. Use a M116(216mm deck height) front cover with a 12 mm spacer fit above it to get the cover up to the 228mm M119.972 deck height

2. Use a M117(245mm deck height) and have the cover decked down 17mm to get it at the correct 228mm M119 deck height

I first thought of this for my w111 while waiting to be able to afford a MS3x pro. But i have the majority of the parts to do that basically for free, SO a simple reliable M119 powered 24hrs of lemmons car Is a possibility also.

So im wondering if the M119.972 block face would have a provision for the distributer drive/idler gear. I also am not sure if the M116 would have that idler in the same place from the crank centerline as a M117, and if so could the timing chain arrangement be made to work physically and be in time also? does the M119.960 have an idler gear and not the long curved driver side chain guide like the M119.972?

Damn. I finallly found a front pic of a bare m119.975 block. its 4.2 but they share identical timing parts. No bearing hole for a timing chain idler/distributor drive. you can see where it would be on this m117 block on the driver side upper bank. I suppose it could be machined in but thats more than i would spend trying to put a single distibuter ignition on. pretty sure i can get a edis or even a COP ignition cheaper, scratch that idea.
