Hello all, newbie , with questions!
I just recently purchased a 1989 grey 300E benz, reading previous posts on this site Ive learned that teh 300e's tend to have the head gasket fail on them after alot of mile put on them, Ook, Question (1), where can I obtain the equivalant of the chilton mauel, or the Benz CD-Rom? The head is partially off but not completely, and I need some info on how to completely remove the head, to do the repair.. Question two, is i t possible to download the benz Cd-rom off the internet? Thanks alot for your time...

info
You can find some manuals and the CD-ROM from ebay. Just check the sellers history. a lot of them are selling a copy of the CD. The ones selling copies have a lot of negative remarks.
Try Amazon.com or Addallbooks.com for the Chilton manual. |

You can check this site at Fastlane or Partshop for the CDs as well - they are real, not pirated copies. Also, the later m104 engines were more known for head gasket problems than the earlier m103 engines (to about 1991-2 I believe). The m103 had valve guide/seal issues. Enjoy your 'new' car.
