190E 2.5-16 Evolution I sighting!
...in Vancouver!
To be precise, it's actually in Richmond. The only one in Canada and it has been confirmed that it is authentic. One ofthe guys i know at the MB body shop says that car was there for a couple of months. Since he owns a 16v too, he paid alot of attention to the body mods. took tons of pics too. I'm trying to get copies off of him. Anyhow, for those who have been thinking about it, it is not at all possible to truly replicate an EvoI or an EvoII. buy y'all already knew that. ![]() You also will get no help from Daimler-Chrysler. They are VERY tight lipped about info on the Evos. even now, 13 years later. Even the dealerships can't get info. Furthermore, the body pieces cost a whole ton of money. each fender flare...JUST THE FLARE is $2300 CAD. The front air dam is over $5000 and i believe that is just for the additional parts. you still have to supply the original 16v bumper. a complete EvoI body kit would run you well over $10,000 canadian. and this is for the EvoI. EvoII components are more. and apparently you cannot order the pieces from DC without a VIN. All the wheelwells were cut out and moved higher to accomodate 19" or 20" racing rims and rubber. it seems that aside from adding a roll cage, there were no body mods allowed on race versions. just some info for interested parties ![]()
