Your 500E/ E500 MPG?

Did a very sedate trip this weekend:

Did 250mi road trip this weekend in the E500 and got 22.30mpg.

I had cruise set for the most part at 75mph and tires inflated to 37psi/44psi (frt/rear); a/c climate control activated for about a couple of hours continuous, 2 pass, and trunk full of misc items.

Just Wondering: What MPG are your 500e/e500 returning?

best regards
-fad

PS- Flawless trip!

At every refuel, I write down mileage, trip, gallons, $/gal, etc...I've done this with every car I've ever owned but I almost never bother to calculate my mileage. I get 400 miles +/- per tank of gas and generally fill from 19 to 20.5 gallons...so I'm probably getting about 18 to 20 MPG.

Jeez,
I get terrible mileage. A tank of gas , 19.5 - 20 gals, getrs me anywhere from 285-320 miles. I think average abouty 15.5 mpg. However, almost all my driving is around town, with short freeway spurts, and an occasional 40-50 mile freeway trips.

And, I have a lead foot.

I doubt I even get 15 mpg. But that's just me.

Depends on the drive but I would be lucky to get 300 miles per tank

My wife could probably squeeze 400 miles out of a tank.

LOL...I just took a look at my gas log...and was I WAY off. I generally get about 300 miles per tank with a best of 380 miles. So, my mileage is a bit less than previously posted.

I'm like everyone else. On the freeway with A/C 70-120MPH (90 average I can hit 400 miles using 80 miles of the reserve (80 is the max I've made it on reserve w/o chickening out). Around town I'm a leadfoot and maybe get 300 miles before the light comes on. My wife could hit 400 around town easy dipping into the reserve before she would send me to the station to fill it up! The S500 (2000MY) is particularly good. I can get 24+ MPG freeway driving even with my leadfoot (low cd). I get 12 MPG in my 928GTS (5 speed) around town and maybe 18-20 freeway depending on A/C usage. My AMEX is just one huge gas bill each month (but I wouldn't have it any other way)!

13-15 mpg when hammering it....and I've gotten 23 mpg on a 500 mile road trip at an average of 80 mph.

Can't complain for a 8 cylinder...considering my old 1976 Chevy C10 pick-up with a Vette motor used to get 8-10 mpg with a light foot.

My 500e seems to average around 16mpg.
I did get 19 this summer coming home from Colorado.
Not bad seeing as I drove over 100mph for most of the trip home.

15MPG every day, and 4-5MPG at the track

Dogonit-...

in response and in imho-
the 500e/e500 is not such a rare a vehicle (production-wise) as 1505 or so North American models were sold in the US during '92-'94... and ~10,000 total units produced for worldwide sales (its not commonly thought of as a mass-produced vehicle however)

perhaps the US 500e/e500's are not daily drivers?, but enjoyed as garage queens/ weekend cars and/or extended roadtrip-type vehicles (similar to the w124 cabs? 280se 3.5 cabs?)

The 500e/e500 does fly quite briskly too- - but the current crop of AMG MBs like the CLK55 fly even more briskly!

best regards
-fad
