E300TD Performance upgrades

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this Web site but not so much to diesels in general. I have a Dodge Cummins that I've built up from it's stock 215 HP to 527 HP at the tires.
I'm looking at a 98 or 99 E300TD and was wondering if I can get a few more horses out of it (other then a K&N filter & bigger exhaust) and if so how, & how far can I go with out hurting the auto trans.
I have a standard trans. in my dodge, so I just put a hi performance clutch in it when it started slipping (which was long ago) I really don't want to go too far as I don't want to blow the tranny out right off the bat!
Thanks,
Lonnie
PS, I hope I'm in the right forum for this.?
