Source for EURO headers????
HEEEEEEELP GUYS!!!!!!!
Here's the plan for Spring (at the latest): Luckily, nothing's wrong with the exhaust as is but I'd like to change out my exhaust to include a more "breathable" setup for my 560 SEL and love the look of the headers installed on the euro version engines with more HP that don't restrict flow as much as the current US stock setup. I'd like to purchase 'em and have chrome plated before installing...Does anyone know of a reliable source to locate these? So far I've been unable to locate them and I know there have got to be some sitting somewhere just waiting to be installed on my baby. Any help is appreciated Alan

Do a search on the following two names:
DEPO Puma Depo is a source for aftermarket euro's with very high quality. Mike Tangas just installed them on his 560 SEL. Many members have purchased OEM euros from a company called Puma. You may also try doing a search on euro or euro lights. There are soooo many threads on euro lights that it will keep you up all night and all day for a whole week reading them.

I tried this. It is hard to get a hold of them because, there seems to be assorted ones and a limited number in the USA. Also, if you do get them. They cannot guarantee that they are the correct ones, fit right, pass emissions, etc. I remember talking to a salvage yard in Australia that had one but, after hearing all this. It kind of scared me away. Click here and ask. You can also talk to Bergwerks also. Both can probably answer your questions. Disclaimer: I am not associated with BergWorks in any way.

I got a set off of german ebay for 60 bucks. They are off a euro 500SE. They are a little rusty, but a trip to Jet-Hot will correct that. I would def. recommend Jet Hot over chrome. Lasts longer, higher temp resistance, and it's still shiny!! I can't afford to put the whole exhaust on right now, so they are sitting in the garage on a shelf right now, so I can't tell ya anything regarding the concerns expressed in the previous post. I know you can get the downpipes from timevalve. Do realize though, that the pre-86 and 86-on models had different manifolds. The pre-86 look like a normal manifold with one flange, while the later model ones have two per one manifold. Both will bolt up, you just have to get the correct downpipe.
I seriously doubt you're gonna find any over here. You're really gonna have to look across the pond where these things aren't special.
