Kill Story. Acura RSX type S vs. My turbo 190E 16V.(LONG)

Hey there everyone,

Well, this is actually about two races that I had on the same trip. I'm going to make this one nice and juicy for you. B/c It was. After the Eclipse I exited off the highway and was making a left onto a busy 5 lane road. Two lanes each way plus a turning lane......with lots of traffic. Well, I wasn't even thinking about a race since I just finished with the Eclipse (Don't worry, the eclipse story will come with time). Well, this brand new Acura Integra RSX type S pulls past me revving like a mad man. This was going to be a traffic light race. He had a 5 inch tip on the exhaust and muffler...not sure how far it went to the engine.......and we're both creeping up the road b/c of the traffic. Well, I thought to myself...."Sure lets get it on, if we can get an opening." He is in the left lane and me in the right and I pull up next to him while the traffic is still and rev a couple times to let him know what is going on......then I see he knods his head in his tinted windows.......we mess around in the traffic a couple times and I roll my window down to ask him what he's got under the hood. I motion him to roll his window down and he tells me he's got about 250HP!!! Well, I got kinda nervous b/c his is a brand new car, 6-speed, and running like a top since it's fairly new 2002 or 2003 model. So I tell him I've probably got about 230HP under my hood. So I said..."It ought to be a good race". Well, by this time......I look up and the traffic is gone!!! I look at him and we're moving about 10mph and I keep it in 1st. Then I hear him revving up like he's about to drop the clutch. So we both hit it at the same time.....10mph roll on and he falls back about a 1/2 car length by the time I'm done with 1st gear.......oops I accidentally redline and I hurry up and shift to 2nd. "PPSSSSHHHHH!!!" the blow off valve goes off. When I shift to 2nd I can hear my tires screeching as they are trying to re-grip. I get my traction and my car was pulling hard at this time and I of course glanced real quickly at the boost gauge and it was reading 6psi. I look over and he's falling back quickly.....one car length, two, three, four, I get to about 6000 RPM's and shift to 3rd and I don't know how fast I got, probably 60mph somewhere around there, but when I look back he is at least 6 car length's behind me.......I had the biggest grin on my face. I rolled down my window again and he the same and I said...."Nice race.......nice try too" So we slow down again and he wants to go again........This time we're moving about 20mph and I'm in 2nd gear. I hear him start revving like mad again (Loud flatuating sound) and we both hammer it........this time I didn't get out of 2nd gear, but I didn't need to.....I left him again back about 2 car lengths. and was still pulling on him when I had to slow down b/c of traffic again. I look at him and give him the thumbs up and him the same and he signals me to follow him into a parking lot, as I'm following him I think to myself, "Next time he better be careful who he revs up too like that......damn ricers." So I follow him into a parking lot and we check out eachothers cars and he can't believe how fast my car was. I just laughed and said......"and it's an '86 too!!!" He was a good loser though....he said that I had put alot of class into my car and he thought that all I had was the body kit and rims and muffler like the usual ricers do and he was impressed with the turbo set up and all. I look under his hood and it is chromed out with the i-vtec valve cover b/c it was. He had a cold air intake and some aftermarket ignition system. Plus he had an aftermarket cat back exhaust system. It was a manual tranny as well. Those RSX type S make 200HP from the factory. He was trying to sell me saying that he got 30HP from cat back, intake and ignition wires and coil? hehe..........those ricers are sooo funny.

Before the RSX type S. I raced a Mitsubishi Eclipse (Late '90's model).....Not the new new body style but the one before that. For those of you who don't know me....I have a '86 190E 2.3-16V turbo with an Evo II body kit on it. I get alot of attention from the ricers when I go down the road. Anyway, this Eclipse was riding my ass and we got to a light and I was turning left onto the entrance ramp to the bypass.......well, he wasn't doing anything that told me he wanted to race but I wanted to test out the new Catalytic Converter I just got, so I open it up when the light turns green arrow and I look in my rear view and he is faaarrr back there....so i'm just thinking "OK, probably just a ****y driver that was on my tail and didn't want to race". But just as I'm saying that, he catches up to me and gets beside me....and then he downshifts and passes me with authority.......well, I'm just thinking......"OK, maybe he does want to race". So I catch up to him and we're doing about 75MPH and the traffic opens up ( didn't notice if it was a turbo or not and he didn't have any visible mods (Exhaust etc.)). Well, were neck and neck and I deside to downshift to 4th gear and I hear his engine downshift too. I glanced at my boost gauge and it jumps to 6psi. Then I look for him and he is about 3-4 car lengths back.......and going.......he was long gone.....I slow it down from 100mph and wait again for him to catch up........then we got side by side again...... same story. I left him far back there..... then I wait again and he signals to exit off and I exit off too.....then I turn back around to go back an exit b/c I missed my exit in order to have some fun....nothing wrong with that. This is where I encounter the RSX type S and blow him away too!! Well, sorry to write such a long story, but I figure since there aren't a whole lot of kill stories here I'd write every detail. Take care and responses are welcome. Later.

Clinton,
I'm glad to hear you're able enjoy your car now!
Have you had a chance to get some dyno numbers?
