I remember one weekend coming back to Cleveland from Cincinnati in my 6.9 and having some punks in some old Buick actually think they could keep ahead of me. I let them have some fun trying to stay ahead of me when I'd try to pass them in the other lane then I just lost it and stomped the go pedal and WOOOOOOOOAAHHHH!!!!! As I glanced in the rear view, I saw four jaws drop (and two were the girls in the car that the guys were trying to impress)!!!! Man, the good times I had in that car Although I really miss it, I'm kind of glad that I sold it since these gas prices are skyrocketing, and the Jensen is bad enough to keep fueled!

Sort of glad in a way your gas prices are going up.. that means you know how it feels to dump $120 into a gas tank of say, a 560SEC ;-)

Thats the one reason I didnt buy a 500SEC AMG that was offered to me for $3000. :-(

What are the gas prices there in Ohio? Out here in California (San Francisco Bay Area), I saw Union 76 Premium at $2.01/gallon

Gas prices in Canada? US$1.78/gal. for the cheapest this week in Vancouver, slightly more expensive than the US?

Well, as some of you may know, I run only Sunoco Ultra 94 in all of my gas-powered cars. I fueled up my 380SE today (after spending most of my vacation day doing 4 new rails and a new timing chain) and the prices in Cincinnati were $1.85/gallon for 94. Just a little sticker shock, but I'm even more glad that I caught the one broken rail before it destroyed my motor!

Eric,

We should make up a time to meet now...will give you a email ASAP...

Gas price here in Vancouver is a tick lower than in US, and I only put Cheveron 94 in my car.....but still, I might go out and get myself a 3 cylinder Metro/Firefly/Swift as a commuter....LOL....best yet...under 500 bucks...hehe, see who's gonna steal that....

Hi Andy, yeah we should exchange our insights on how to fight these nasty Vancouver Police one day.. Just installed a V1 with concealed display, FYI, they do work very well giving you enough warning for those photo radars..

So do they always use vans for the photo radar up there? Last time I drove from the US border into Vancouver on 99 I saw several photo radar warning signs but never picked up a signal (never slowed down, and didn't get anything in the mail. I couldn't figure out what was going on, because I assumed the photo radar units would be permanent. Which radar band(s) do they use? Does anybody know how much slack they give you?

Dean, Photo Radar are always in Van(always GMC/Chevy Astro). And you can always see the tripod(for flash light) sits in front of the Van(from under the car when you are some distance away from the van, approach from behind)....

As for the Warning signs...it really depends...sometimes there are fixed camera(speed trap), but 90% of the time, it's just a warning sign, nothing more..

With a V1 against photo radar, it'll give you at least warning from a block away. It's the lower pitch blab blab so quite obvious.

As Andy says, always look for the mini van with tinted window, look under the van from a distance and you can see the tripod, hard to miss.
