For those who enjoys performance reserved for exotic supercars and really want to have some serious fun like going from 0-60 in 5 seconds, MB just announced that they will start shipping the CLK55 to this side of the pond in September. It is considered the quickest production car ever manufactured by MB, and it had already served as the official pace car in 1999 F1 World Championship. The beast comes with 342 bhp and 370 foot pounds of torque. It will wear the 17" AMG monoblock wheels. I would love to take one out for a spin, but I guess the waiting line will be at least 4 months.

I bet it'll be even faster...heck, my old 500E will do the 0-60 thing (per G-Tech, which claims accuarcy +/-.1 sec) in 5.2 (averaged, two runs in opposite directions). I'm thinkin' it'll turn low 13s in the quarter and 4.8-4.9 0-60. Watch for Motor Trend's review...they always seem to come up with the quickest number.
Yeah, they are wicked nice...LOVE the lines of that car. ------------------ Best regards, Michael '92 500E '88 300TE |

Renntech builds a CLK with a V-12 engine. I don't know what it does to 60 but car and driver tested an E-class with the same engine that went to 60 in 3.9 seconds. Renntech mercedes.com has more info. They say it will go over 200MPH. Unfortunately it costs so much that you could probably buy a
Ferrari 550 Maranello for the same money. Jesse 98 C43 |

Yeah, but how many Ferraris do you see that hold 5 people and luggage?

Has anybody heard the latest news on the price and arrival date on the new AMG-C32?
For what you get for the money, it really sounds like it should give the whole MB lineup a run for top dog position. http://www.automotive-review.com/whatsnew14.htm ------------------ Ross 96 C280, Greenish Black |

I drove in a CLK 55 last week. The first one at our store. It was a midnight blue color with the charcoal interior. Ordered for a pro hockey player. Anyways, MAAAANNNNNNN!!!!
I feel that it's more pavement ripping than the E55. Also drove in the new S600 with the new 137 engine. Very Nice |
