It was really funny...here is this guy in a 944 Porsche giving me the nod at a stop light. "Weeeelllll, Okay if you insist" Red light. Green light. Wait a little. Wait a little more to give him fighting chance. Then Vroom! Bye, Bye. He did not have the courage to face me and turned off before the next light.

Was it a turbo? If not, he must've felt like he'd dropped a boat anchor out the window!

I don't own a 500E, would love to have one. What I keep reading on these posts kill me. Especially the one about the Ferrari!! HEH,HEH. Mere mortals, don't realize they haven't a chance. !!

Ummmmmm theres some evil Turbo 944s around.... very cheap to get gonzo power from them. I've driven one with close to 400 bhp. That'll eat a 500E...

Saw a 500E in the UK with reg HOT 500E. As you may know, getting a personal plate int he UK is hard as it must be

L= letter, d=number/digit

LDDD LLL
LDD LLL
LD LLL

or

LLL DDD L
LLL DD L
LLL D L

or slight variations on the above, so to see HOT 500E was quite something

Theres also no state variations so they have to be unique in the country

Even here in the US we had a HOT factory 944 turbo, that the factory said did 0-60 in 5.9sec. A strong 944T with good driver should be fast - but you never know.
