500E rear ride height-too high

In my attempt to slightly lower my car, I've gone from 4-bump to 2-bump front spring pads, and from 2 down to 1-bump in the rear. Front dropped a lot - nearly an inch! However, rear is the same if not higher. I've been fiddling with the control valve for the SLS-the service CD says to cycle it (lever up to fill, down to drain) then pick the set position-at the moment I have the adjustment bar slightly longer than originally, but I fell like I've tried every combination and it's resulted in a rear ride height that's high or higher! I'd really like to get the car pretty level, and don't want to go to lowering springs since the front's already low enough (nearly zero fender gap). Any thoughts on how to get this procedure right?

Thanks in advance
