I had my Euro '97 E300Turbodiesel dyno tested today. Not sure how to interpret the results. According to the engineer, the machine will not give an accurate result on the auto box, because the test is conducted in fourth gear, and then straight to neutral (don't ask me why). With my box you must pass through fifth on the way. This will give inaccurate "spiked" results, apparently. He insisted that the "at the wheels" score is accurate. So she scored 147hp (DIN)"at the wheels", which the computer extrapolated to 183bhp, and torgue peaked at 3900rpm/118mph. I understand the Euro engine to be 177 stock, and with a Superchip etc, I was guesstimating 210bhp. My own "seat of the pants" torque peak is more like 4200/4400. Any opinions?? Can anyone help with interpreting the results, or tell us how to get a more accurate result on this type of machine (rolling road under rear axle)??

Eddie-I think your HP/Torque problem is that the quoted #'s are at the engine, while your acquired #'s are at the rear wheels. There is a certain %loss from engine to rear wheels. After market mods (like chips) claim these stratospheric HP/Torque increases with their products, but in reality, I would expect a gain of about 10-20%. Some gains can't even be measured on the dyno (like air intake) because they can only be seen in dynamic conditions.
Hope this helps.
Gary
