250 km/h = 155 mph in a 4 cyl. 1,6 litre, turbo'ed, non-rev.limited Mazda Miata with the top down..!
All non-secured objects smaller than a middle-sized dog got sucked out of the cabin during that run.

I really miss that Yankees cap.. But DANG what a rush!

So true, my car was stable enough for me to take that picture I posted of 120mph in the 190E :p

Recently I followed a Jaguar X-type for 15-20 miles continuously at 105-115 mph, never below. I was tired, but it was so smooth and stable and utterly free of effort it was no different to doing 75. I was still swapping CDs from out of the glove compartment - there can't be any other cars that are like this at speed at 17 years old.

Intriguing idea for my final year engineering project

The W124 chassis, esp. my wagon, was super-smooth and controlled at 145+ for 50+ minutes at the Silver State Gold Rush Challenge.

a few days ago I was going around 125+ and a CHP was right next to me..but for some odd reason he didn't pull me over? I don't know what he was thinking, and I didn't have any plates, no registeration...nothin....weird ppl....

Neil...remember when you installed my friends Chip on his 500E? and then I took it for a test-drive...that day I hit 161mph (would have gone faster but a turn came up, and the speedo ran out of numbers ).

best speeding memory...apx.135 mph in my dad's grey market 6.9 at the time(1982) .on my way to san diego to get some conversion work done on it ,and it was smoother than when i was doing 70!!and i was too scared to go any faster and i kid you not another 6.9 past me like i was stopped!!!

also 140 mph in my e-500 (1994) i guess 140 is about my limit before i start losing it!!!

95 or so in the 300TE. Bummer is, all the slower traffic that invariably gets in front of me. Nobody seems to go fast anymore. Too much traffic, at least here in eastern PA.
