Hello all,
Today on my way home I took the final turn coming off the hill (low left curve about 250 degrees) at about 50 (got to love AMG) and noticed that while in the curve the low coolant indicator light up. Once the car exited the turn, the light when away. I checked the level when got home and added a bit of water to be sure. My question is this: If the g forces in the curves are enough to dry out the coolant sensor, then could I also be starving the engine for oil? It would seem to be possible, but I don't know very much about the oil flow paths in the M104 engine. Thanks, ~dnm

I believe the C36 engine has a windage tray in the oil-pan to keep the oil from pooling to one-side during hard-turns.

One thing also to note, always run your car with the oil topped off and check in between sessions to make sure it is full.
When I used to run my Corvette, it was standard to overfill it by 1/2 quart to run on the track, never stayed that way though, a typical track day would use at least 2 quarts of mobile 1. I never had any issues with my C36 on the track either, but I also made sure the oil was topped off after each session. |

I keep a variety pack of fluids in my trunk just to be sure- oil, brake, powersteering, mixed coolant, transmission. They all fit nicely in the spare tire compartment so there is no knocking around the back.
