500E rear higher on one side...
Seems that the rear of my 500E is about 1in higher on the right hand side than on the left... any ideas whats causing it? I have no clue how the self levelling system works at all

Greetings Brian-
any hydraulic fluid leaks from the SLS system components? I'd suspect one of your accmulators/rear shocks may be dead or dying, and/or one of your spring/ spring pads in combination compressed, or perhaps even due to a super low tire pressure condition on one side.... also- do you have one side of the trunk more heavily loaded vs. the other? hope this helps -fad |

Cant see any leaks no, but I'll whip the wheels off and have a look.
How does it work.. is there an oil filled damper and a nitrogen filled sphere for springing? Tire pressures are fine and the trunk is empty

Hi Brian,
To add to what fad already suggested check your rear sway bar links as well when you remove the rear wheels. They are made of plastic and I've seen them snap before. On another note take a look at your spring pads too, make sure they have the same number of bumps. They sit just above the spring, you'll see the bumps when you remove the whee. This one is highly unlikely but worth the look since you have the wheel off. Good luck
