Question Cool Harness - Anybody here use one?

Has anybody here had experience with user -JimF's- "Cool Harness" product. I am looking to put one on my '95 E320. Please advise.

I built one from Jim's instructions. It works GREAT. One hitch, though. If you live in a cold place, I would remove it in the winter, as it fools the climate control into thinking the engine is warm, when it is not, so heater blows full blast cold when the engine is first started. (at least on my 94 E420)

do you really need it on your 95 E320? Although mine is a little behind yours in miles I never see anything above 95'C, no matter how hot it is outside. And I'll only see that temp. if it's mid 90's outside and I'm sitting in stop and go traffic. Are you sure everything that concerns your cooling system is working properly?

Thumbs up

I like mine on my 500E for the summer months...I could probably use a new radiator at 137K but with the harness it stays definitely cooler than w/o it...and its a cheap, reversible mod. JimFs piece is nicely done with factory ends on it.

I just soldered a resistor to the factory connector - same effect. I love it. Keeps my '94 E420 nice and cool. Cost me...well nothing really, since I have a billion and one resistors at work, but resistors can be had from anywhere for pennies.

literally pennies

ordered mine from radio shack .99 for 5 resistors(1 package) and 1.99 for shipping. They had to special order them. You might be lucky enough that they stock these at your radioshack store.
