Cool C36 on the drag strip!!

Here in my town a brand new, state of the art, drag stip was built about 2 months ago, so of course I had to enter the C36 to see what she could do.... well not bad, I guess, ran a 15.5 at 93.7 mph. Mostly my fault, horrible R/T's, but also the 5 speed auto slush box is a dog out of the hole, anyone have a tried and true method for launching a Benz of the line??? Oh well fun to run anyway, and a friend ran a 14.1 on his first ever run in his 1968 Camaro RS/SS (427cu will do that for you though)

Sounds fun. You should go more often for practice.

Could you look at my post on the C36, I am trying to find what model year would be the best to get. I want to turbo charge it.

Thanks,

Not sure how much the altitude plays in on this but maybe quite a bit. The C36 should run close with the C43 in the low 14's. Maybe that altitude cut a half second out of you and your friend's runs! R/T shouldn't play a factor if its a "just for fun" drag strip night, its all timed by tripping the laser's, not how fast you step on the gas. Looking forward to getting my car done soon and temps going down here- (still 90 at night!). I'll post some times by November hopefully.

Actually R/T's played a huge part in my performance (or lack of it), my best R/T was .619, pretty poor!!! It was a full race day with funny cars, bukes, and all else. I was running in a time-only division, but same run procedure for all of us. I feel if I could get a good start I might be able to run in the high 14's, it was also 100+ degrees that day so not really optimal conditions. I'll probably give it another try sooner or later.

.619's not bad!

I think altitude's the killer here...get down to sea level and kick some butt!
