C32 X drilled rear brake rotors
Anyone else have a good source for rear X drilled rear brake rotors?
I have the front C32 X drilled brake rotors, looks strange being solid in the rear. My friend's Porsche has rear X drilled rear brake rotors and it just looks better. I bought a set of C32 rear brakes complete with calipers. The C32 rear rotors are larger and ventillated vs. solid. But they are not X drilled. C32 rear rotors are internally vented 11.8- x .9-in. discs I have been waiting until I get the brake pads I wanted, now I am searching for Zimmerman X drilled brake rotors for the C32 rear. I ordered some from an old source of Mercedes Benz parts that I used for my 6.3. Zimmermann has all the requisite Germany certificates, so they make good products. The Zimmermann rotors shipped to me are stock C class size of 10.875 inches. I don't know what the the 210 number means others than the 210 model and not 203!! The package says Zimermann 210 423 04 12 and is what is listed on every autoparts store for the rear of the C32. On MBWorld s4iscool ordered rear x drilled rotors for his C32 and got the exact same parts. |

The EPC shows part number 210-423-08-12 for the C32 AMG rear brake rotor. It's the same 300mm x 22mm size used on the C43, E55, etc. The 210-423-04-12 number you got is the standard 278mm x 9mm rear rotor used on numerous other models. The "210" prefix means that part was originally designed for the 210 chassis, but Mercedes shares parts across all their different chassis, so it's common to see different numbers (i.e., that don't match YOUR exact car) for some items.
About drilled rotors. There are no aftermarket drilled rotors that I know of. But most brake specialty places will take a solid rotor and drill it for you, at extra cost naturally. I believe Porterfield will do this. Another option is to try the late R129 Silver Arrow rear rotors, which are the same size (300x22), and cross-drilled. I am 99.44% sure they will bolt on perfectly but I haven't confirmed this! If you have a friendly dealer parts guy, they might order one in for you to measure before buying a pair. The part number for the drilled OE 300x22 rea rotor is 129-423-05-12 and list price is something like $90 each. ![]()

Oh btw, for buying parts, try FastLane - the site sponsor (see buttons at the very top of this page). If they can't get something, my other favorite supplier is Rusty at BuyMBparts (800-741-5252). You're a LOT more likely to get the right parts when you buy from people who know what they're doing! A copy of the EPC helps immensely as well (that's the dealer part catalog.)
