I want to upgrade my E430 suspension, wheel and tire setup to what's found of the E55. I need to change front struts and rear shocks, the springs, front & rear sway bars and increase front tires to 245/40/18 and rear to 275/35/18 on wider AMG wheels. What else needs to be done? Does AMG roll the fenders or any other work to fit the larger rolling stock?

Well, stock, my C36 cannot handle a lowered suspension and a plus 1 upgrad (18inch) just to let you know.

To Delroy: I already sold the OEM wheels and tires. I put only 10 miles on them and that was the trip from the dealer to my home. Sorry.

To Rocky: Your C36 is riding on 17 inch wheels, that is essentially a "Plus 2" upgrade for a W202 chassis. To put 18 inch wheels on your C36 is really the equivalent to doing a "plus 3" on the W202 chassis. If I go to a 18 inch wheel it will be a "Plus 2" upgrade for a W210 chassis. Plus your AMG tuned chassis has already been lowered a bit with the upgrade to AMG springs. I am waiting for one of the MBZ tuners to make adjustable height Coil-Over Struts/Shocks. That would be awesome!

Kevin,
The parts you are looking for can only come from AMG or your dealership. I'm not sure if AMG rolled the fenders on the E55. I know they did roll the fenders on the C36 however so they well could have done the same "trick" on the E55. Maybe someone with the E55 tech introduction book or an owner can let us know there.

Rocky,
The C36 had a slightly lower ride height for the euro market. Have you looked into converting your car to euro spec springs? May be worth a call to AMG or your local dealership. Let me know what you find out...EG

Hope this helps...Lee

Kevin,

the E55 does have the fenders rolled to fit the huge tires. I most definitely would have a very reputable person do the fender rolling for you. make sure that they have the right equipment and that they heat the paint before rolling. If they do it cold it could crack the paint.
