steering box leak 85 380 sl
I believe its my steering box that is leaking, as I can't trace the puddle to an oil, brake or ATF leak. Can someone please tell me the location of this?
Ive read posts of owners who had great success with an additive to stop the leak. I'd say Ive lost perhaps 1/2 cup in three days. Last edited by rememberjeff; 04-20-2005 at 01:02 PM. Reason: misspelling |

You follow the steering column from the firewall to the steering box. There are lines that run from the pump to the box. All of the components are suspect.

bad pump
thanks Chuck.
I just took it to the garage. It leaked the entire night and was dry in the morning. I tired the Lucas stuff, but the mechanic said the pump, not the steering box, was leaking. I guess Im lookin at $$$$. |
