600SL Loosing power over 4k RPM

Passed smog 2 months ago,no CEL,no codes...any ideas?
The car is not responsive over 4000 rpm anymore,everybody points to the catalic converter.
Waiting for feedback please...

the cats seem logical, try removing the oxygen sensors and driving it, or un bolt the exhaust flanges slightly to create an exhaust leak and see if it runs any better, with the openings, i have diagnosed cats that way
