Mercedes 560sl wood

I have received complete Burlwood kit from 560sl for Eris Car in Germany. The kit looks fine although there is a diffeence in the DASH strip set from the old one in my car. As all of you know there is difference between US and Euro models. With this kit received I only have a problem with the central dash strip-I have received the one for the euro model. The problem is that the manufacturer does not produce the wood strip that has 3 holes for the antenna, light and heating switch instead they have send me the stripe that has only 1 thiny hole. Did any of you had similar expereinces and what would be the best solution.

Thank you all in advance,

Balsa

P.S. Also the Performance catalog does not have this 3 switch wood stripe for US model for sale they also sell the same kit as I received from Germany with the same 1 hole/switch center dash stripe.

Possible lead, person to ask about this...

There used to be a fellow called Drew Tibken at Heritage Woodworks, who is acclaimed as the best guy in the USA for Burlwood and Zebrano wood interior restorations, but I don't have a name or number or site for him.

He was once listed at www.mbcoupes.com The link might still be there

Plus my information is 6 or 7 years old. But it's a lead, anyway

Try Greg Merrick, he is in the Star I think. Probably the best, more expensive than Drew though.

I received my parts from eris, and the burl wooden parts look great. I purchased an international calling card for $5; it allowed me to call Germany and talk for 5 hours. It took two weeks to complete the transaction including shipping. Also, the euro exchange rate influenced the price, but I still saved over 45%. Communication was easy; the sale manager speak English.

What is your car model? Did you get a complete kit from Eris?

The model is 1991 SL300

I only ordered center console parts two piano doors, console frame, gear shift, gear shift cover, and a chrome gear surround. When I have some additional time, I will add a picture.
