I removed my front courtesy light and noticed that the previous owner has cut a (red) wire in this unit...
The wire I am talking about is connected to the round sensor(?) at the top right side between the switch and (heater) temperature sensor. Does anyone know what function this round sensor(?) has? Personally I think it has something to do with the factory mounted alarm system, but I am not sure... thanks in advance & greetingz,

It may have been an aftermarket alarm. Mine gave me a great deal of grief with false alarms until I simply disconnected the system. I you don't see a whole lot of loose wires all over the place, consider yourself lucky and go with the flow.

The car has got a factory-mounted alarm and the way that this features is installed it definitely is an OEM part.
It might be a microphone for the cell phone, but Euro cars don't have them as standard option (and mine didn't have that either). I have soldered the wire and see what will happen...If anything starts to fail, I can always cut it again! greetingz,
