About a year ago, I had an electrical short in my dash...and after that was fixed my rollbar warning light stays lit. the red arrow lights on the manual "raise switch" blink when the bar is down...so I leave it up at all times. Is there a reset switch or a way to self diagnose the problem? How difficult is it to reset the rollbar?

Check the roll bar fuse located in the trunk.

If the fuse is out on the roll bar, it cannot come up automatically in the event of a rollover (hence the warning on the console). The rollbar console switch is sort of a manual override.

Thanks....will double check. I am reasonably sure I have checked that every fuse is in good order...which fuse is it in the trunk compartment? Could it be that my fried dash console gives the impression of a blown fuse?

The dealer can check the roll bar system by plugging the hand-held-tester to the 16 pins connector under the hood (passenger's side).
The light in the switch is flashing to indicate that the roll bar will not come up in case of an accident. Your manual probably tells you to have it checked at the dealer (they do that by plugging the car to the compu).

DIagnostic codes for roll bar

You can get the diagnostic trouble codes for your roll bar system by connecting an LED between pin #7 of the diagnostic connector and ground.

Thanks much....I have never checked the codes before (on a mercedes), but on the mustang it was a piece of cake. Once I get the codes, where can I reference them? God I wish I trained as a mercedes mechanic---I have so much more respect for them now! HA!
