280SE 4.5 rear end in a '69 280SL?
I have 4.08 rear end in my '69 280SL, RPMs are too high on the freeway. I'm thinking of changing to a 3.69 or 3.27 rear end from a 280SE 4.5. Does anyone have the 3.27 rear end in thier 280SL? How slow is it off the line? Do you recommned this change? Look forward to your comments.

Looking for a 4.09 rear axle
Looking under the Vintage Auto's section (probably should have posted it here), I have a 230 SL with a rear axle noise. I currently have it out and am in the process of tearing it all down. I might be interested in your rear end,if you decide to change.
I just read in my W113 forum that a Pete Lester (W113sl@AOL.COM) has a 3:46 rear axle for sale l@ $400. |
