Torque Spec for Valve Cover

Hello. I would like a confirmation of the torque spec for the valve cover (gasket job)? I read on this board with different answers. Is it 3nm or 7nm?

I have a 82 380SL.

TIA!

valve cover torque

Spec is 3 to 4 nm (Newton-meters). Since there are only 4 bolts, too tight can distort the cover and produce a leak. I recommend using a 1/4" drive torque wrench for it's sensitivity in the desired range.

Actually, that is a wrong answer. 3nm is equal to about 2.5 lb/ft or so. That's basically where I torqued my bolts at....
