Reverse gear 450 SL 1972

Hi, I’m having problems with engaging reverse gear on my 450 sl 1972 when engine is cold. Filter and oil has been changed. When engine running at normal temperature it engage without problems. Read in a buyer’s guide that some bolt situated close to kick-down contact could be loose. Any knowledge whether this could be the reason and where to locate this bolt?
Hope for some assistance.

(assume you are talking an automatic?) I have not heard of a bolt doing it but on one of mine the bushings on the selector rod had both worn through and it wasn't moving enough to go into reverse and if I jiggled the shifter then it went straight to neutral, also had difficulty in going to 1st. a pair of new bushings for about $10 and a barrow full of pain and suffering got them installed and sorted the problem mine happened hot or cold though
cheers

Thanks Barri, Yes automatic. Doubt though this is the reason while no problems at all with drive gears. I noticed this bolt in Mercedes-Benz 280-560SL & SLC: The Essential Buyer's Guide.
Anyway will give it a try next weekend
