Need Help on Interior Color

Hello,
Just purchased a 1974 450SL. Can anyone tell me what the interior color is from the photo attached? I believe it is mahogony but not sure. I don't think I can check this through the VIN # as it is pre-1980.
Thanks

World Upholstery and GAHH have color charts on their websites.

Don't think so.
Tobacco is almost black.

I've still got a set of W115 seats and door cards in tobacco from one of my long gone 220Ds.

If you contact the MB Classic Center, they can give you the build sheet for your car. It will specify all the colors.

It looks to me like Mahogany - That is what my car is. But photo colors on computers often are misleading! Mahogany has a reddish tinge to it and Tobacco a brownish less rich look. Bamboo is much lighter.

Be careful using the aftermarket vendor color charts - They use similar numbers to Mercedes but for different colors! When buying, have them send swatches of the leather or carpet. Even if you give them the proper MB code for your car, you might not get the right color.

I initially bought tobacco vinyl spray code 263 from WU, and found it to be the wrong color even although it used the MB code for my car. I then bought Mahogany and it matched.

This is my data card (Should be in the service book if you have all the car's books). Item 8 is the color code. You will see it is 263. World upholstery use 263 for Tobacco, but that is wrong for my car.

This trim sheet explains the colors (If you can read German!)

Good Luck!

It is tobacco, I've got the same. I changed my carpet to black.
