W107 Front Wheel Seal Install Problem
Wrapping up my front end project on my 82 380 SL last night and when I was putting my new rotors/ hubs on my brand new wheel seal kept popping out of the hub as I installed the new assembly on the spindle. This seal fits tightly, but it's not really a press fit tightness I'm used to on these kinds of wheel seals. Twice it popped out. I finally got it installed, but not I'm wondering if this is acceptable? This happened on both front wheel seals. Clearly I don't want to install a faulty seal after all this work.
Also- once I got the new rotors on, both my dust shields are rubbing pretty badly. I'm tweaking them out just by bending them but they seem to be REALLY close to the rotors. Is it supposed to this tight of a clearance? |

dust shields can be a real pain, yes they are that close a tolerance, the seal should fit without popping off, has to be put on evenly and with a bit of even pressure , that said it does not take much to get them to come off
