not a bad price considering the market lately

An oddly high price on Ebay is just a sign of seller fraud about nine times out of ten.

1972 Mercedes 450 SL two top roadster only 41,000 original miles

always been a California vehicle that has been garaged its entire life for all
you people that is not familiar with the 72 Mercedes 450 SL. There was only a
handful made of these unique 72 450 SL"S unlike the 350 SL this car is equipped
with power windows and still has the short bumpers and the a/c still blows cold

And for sellers that are not familiar with the 1972 U.S. models there were more than a handful made and all were originally badged as 350SL.

If car is as described it is worth the purchase price.

And if you look at the Chassis number it is a 1973 model. Build date 12/72.

mine has a 72 build date as well , vin shows it at 649 off the line
I thought the price was high , and guess someone he knows pushed it there so it would not sell or avoid a low sell, not sure.

If his was worth that , mine is worth at least that much or more ...

My '73 #008980 has an 11/72 build date. MB change model years in September. A U.S. model with the chassis number in the ad should be listed as a 1973. It has also been repainted.

OK I had a brain fart, mine has a build date 8/71, number 541 on the VIN, It is a really early 72 , first lived in Germany, then to the states americanized,
mine is up to 15 K - firm but first one with 14K - cash - can have her

I don't find this price out of line at all. Very early car, low mileage...certainly not common anymore in this condition. You couldn't restore one for this price if you got the car for free, and a car is original only once. This is close to, if not an investment grade car.

Loved the Details in the 1982 380SL ad.

"This is the last year of the very desirable 380SL."

Well if someone offers me $50,000 for mine they can have it

It looks a lot like this one but it doesn't have those silly wheels.
