560sl climate control...

1986 560sl climated control stuck on full heat and fan will ramp up to high when climate control turned on. It will ignore full air condioning or any air conditioning. Just full heat and full fan.

Hot air blowing out of all the vents but not the windshield defoger vents.

Can anyone help?
Sincerely

Terry Borth

Start with monovalve, then a full inspection/test o vacuum lines and pods...

Probably not "ignoring"

the air conditioning. If the diaphragm in your monovalve is compromised, the system defaults to full heat and will overwhelm the air conditioning.

As previous poster said, check your monovalve by pulling out the insert and inspecting. If ruptured, replace it. It could solve your problem. If it doesn't, we'll go from there. Worst case is a failed pushbutton control unit.
