Cannot unlock 'B' pillar on soft top '74 450SL

Hey guys I am stuck, literally.
Like a dummy I pulled the soft top up last night and now I cannot release it!
I move the small lever over to the 'E' position (clockwise) and the large lever to the 'C' position (counterclockwise) but all that happens is the top cover unlatches and the top stays firmly attached in he rear. I can move it maybe an inch but the 'B' pillar stays locked in place. I am thinking hat maybe the cable from the small lever to the latch is broken. Any ideas on how to get this unlatched?

Tanks,

Joe

Got it working... I stuck a small screwdriver in the rear pin hole and slid the catch over to the right. Got the tip from some guys I know...

Here is the hole and the catch.

with it off now, carefully inspect how it works and adjust cable, ( on the drivers side (IIRCC). set screw and cable . These locks can be a nightmare, you got yours with a screwdriver, but there have been times when that did not work. I actually have a secondary cable I attach to my lever and I hide it under the soft top just in case . I just pull it if needed and it moves the little latch out of the way

Good idea with the extra cable. I also researched adjusting the small lever's cable and I will do it this afternoon. However my plan is to leave the top down all summer and just driver her on sunny days
